In 1907 the Buick company put the Model D into production. At this point in history, soon-to-be GM was known as the Olds Motor Vehicle Company. This is when Henry M. Leland established the Cadillac School of Applied Mechanics, the first school to train mechanics and technicians. By 2002, the Cadillac Escalade became its own, improved luxury model. This new SUV upgraded from a 5.7L Vortec 5700 V8 to a 6.0L V8 as well as an optional rear-wheel drive powertrain. Also added were the third-row seating and 11-speaker, 250-watt Bose® audio system. As time goes on, more specifically in 2007, the Escalade becomes the sleek and stylish Cadillac we know now with another power increase, a six speed automatic transmission, and more interior luxuries.
